Position Overview

Value Driven Solutions is seeking a contract Director of Commercial Excellence for one of our premier Private Equity clients. This enterprise-level role focuses on developing and implementing Business System tools to drive growth and foster a Lean culture. The ideal candidate will collaborate closely with Lean Leaders and Associates, leveraging significant experience in Lean methodologies to enhance commercial performance and deliver measurable customer value.

This role will make an immediate impact by:

  • Developing and refining a Growth toolbox, including VOC, Customer Segmentation, Technology Roadmap, Idea Incubator, Product Portfolio Management, Design Thinking, Lean Phase-Gate System, Innovation Project Management, VAVE, 3P, DFMA, Rapid Growth Assessment, Strategic Pricing, Sales Funnel Management, Value Selling, and 80/20.

  • Cultivating a culture of Continuous Improvement.

  • Demonstrating data-driven decision-making and setting high performance expectations.

  • Advancing business priorities such as Portfolio Health Index, Go-to-Market Strategies, Revenue, Operating Margin Expansion, and Customer NPS.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Lean Leaders to define and develop Growth tools, including roadmap creation, training, coaching, impact tracking, and alignment with industry standards.

  • Partner with Learning and Development to create or update training content aligned with the Enterprise learning architecture.

  • Work with Associates to enhance the company’s Growth tools.

  • Identify performance gaps and select appropriate tools to address them.

  • Coach and mentor all organizational levels to establish a Continuous Improvement culture.

  • Act as a change agent, modeling inclusive and equitable behaviors and addressing any negative conduct promptly.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a technical field or Business.

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in business system development and deployment within R&D, Marketing, or Sales, including at least 2 years in a leadership role with a proven track record of implementation success.

  • Demonstrated ability to deliver exceptional results through high expectations and decisive action.

  • Expertise in implementing and training on Growth tools (e.g., VOC, Customer Segmentation, Technology Roadmap, etc.).

  • Strong business and financial acumen.

  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate transparently, influence cross-functionally, and build followership.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and general computer skills.

  • Experience fostering an inclusive work environment with a clear understanding of equitable practices.
