Position Overview
VDS is seeking an experienced Lean Healthcare Consultant for a contract role to support our private equity client’s healthcare portfolio company. This fully remote position is open to candidates nationwide. The ideal candidate will have at least 15 years of experience applying Lean principles in healthcare and a proven track record of profit and loss (P&L) management. You will drive transformative process improvements to optimize operations and financial performance, aligning with Lean healthcare principles such as those outlined in Lean Healthcare (PMC4171573).
Key Responsibilities
Lean Implementation: Apply Lean methodologies (e.g., value stream mapping, kaizen, waste elimination) to streamline clinical and operational processes, reducing inefficiencies such as excessive wait times or inventory waste.
P&L Optimization: Utilize P&L expertise to align Lean initiatives with financial objectives, driving cost reductions and revenue growth while maintaining quality care standards.
Operational Transformation: Collaborate with leadership to implement scalable Lean solutions across the organization’s facilities, enhancing operational efficiency and patient satisfaction.
Stakeholder Engagement: Work closely with executives, clinicians, and staff to foster a culture of continuous improvement, ensuring sustainable Lean adoption.
Performance Analysis: Develop and track KPIs to measure the impact of Lean initiatives on operational efficiency, financial performance, and patient outcomes.
Change Leadership: Drive change management efforts to secure buy-in from all levels of the organization, supporting the PE client’s strategic goals.
Qualifications
Experience: Minimum of 15 years in Lean process improvement, with at least 10 years in healthcare (e.g., hospitals, ambulatory care, or healthcare systems).
P&L Expertise: Demonstrated experience managing P&L statements, with a history of delivering financial improvements through Lean strategies.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, business, industrial engineering, or a related field. Advanced degree (e.g., MBA, MHA) or Lean certification (e.g., Lean Six Sigma Black Belt) strongly preferred.
Skills:
Expertise in Lean methodologies, including value stream mapping, kaizen, and waste reduction, tailored to healthcare environments.
Strong financial acumen to align operational improvements with P&L goals.
Exceptional communication and leadership skills to engage diverse stakeholders.
Proven ability to manage complex projects remotely with strong organizational skills.
Technical Proficiency: Experience with healthcare IT systems (e.g., EHRs) and data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, Tableau) is a plus.
Location: Fully remote, open to candidates nationwide (U.S.).
Contract Details
Type: Contract, 6–12 months (with potential for extension based on project needs).
Hours: Flexible, approximately 20–40 hours per week, depending on project scope.
Compensation: Competitive hourly rate, commensurate with experience.
Start Date: Immediate.
