Position Title: Lean Manufacturing Consultant (6-Month Contract)
Location: On-site at Prescott or Watsonville sites
Duration: Approximately 6 months, starting immediately
Employment Type: Full-time, on-site, 5 days a week
Job Summary:
We are seeking a hands-on Lean Manufacturing Consultant for a 6-month engagement to lead process optimization and manage complex, high-value equipment installations. The role focuses on executing operational improvements and preparing permanent staff to take over responsibilities as operations stabilize. The ideal Operations Consultant has experience managing large-scale manufacturing projects, specializing in tableting and compression equipment for pharmaceutical clients. Strong background in lean manufacturing and continuous improvement, with a track record of driving efficiency in high-growth environments. Bilingual in English and Spanish, skilled at bridging communication gaps in multicultural workforces. Excels in proactive gap analysis and implementing solutions for complex installations involving new customer integrations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Management: Directed the implementation of tableting machines for major clients, including oversight of IQ/OQ/PQ processes and expertise transfer from established sites. Coordinating with supply chain teams to mitigate shortages and tariff-related issues.
- Lean Manufacturing: Lean Manufacturing Expert; developed training programs for staff in nascent lean environments, emphasizing standardized processes and whiteboard tracking to build internal capabilities and ensure cross-site consistency.
- Technical Skills: Deep knowledge of tableting/compression technology, including ramp-up for new customers like Blue Land scenarios, with experience in seasonal workforce management and inventory optimization for site-specific needs.
Implement lean manufacturing methodologies to drive efficiency and reduce operational waste.
Identify and address process inefficiencies through proactive gap analysis and solution implementation.
Oversee the execution of large-scale equipment installations, ensuring alignment with project timelines and quality standards.
Work closely with site teams to support operational goals and foster collaboration.
Train and prepare permanent employees for a successful transition of responsibilities by the end of the contract.
Qualifications:
Senior-level expertise in project management with a focus on hands-on execution.
In-depth knowledge of lean manufacturing and process improvement techniques.
Proven track record in managing high-value equipment installations.
Bilingual proficiency in Spanish and English is a strong asset for effective communication at Prescott and Watsonville sites.
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to thrive in dynamic, fast-paced settings.
