Position Overview
The Vice President of Global Operations is a senior executive leadership role responsible for directing and optimizing all aspects of the company’s worldwide operations. This position plays a critical part in driving operational excellence, scalability, profitability, and strategic execution across multiple regions and business units. The leader in this role will oversee global supply chain, manufacturing/logistics (as applicable), procurement, distribution, and operational performance to support aggressive growth objectives, cost leadership, and long-term competitive advantage.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement global operations strategies that directly support the company’s revenue growth, margin improvement, and long-term business objectives.
- Provide executive oversight of end-to-end global supply chain, operations, and related functions across international sites and regions.
- Lead large-scale continuous improvement programs utilizing lean, Six Sigma, and other advanced methodologies to drive efficiency, reduce waste, lower costs, and elevate quality and service levels.
- Hold full P&L accountability for global operations, including budgeting, forecasting, capital allocation, cost management, and performance against financial targets.
- Build, lead, and develop high-performing operational leadership teams across multiple geographies and functions.
- Partner closely with executive peers in finance, sales, product/engineering, and other functions to ensure operations are fully aligned with enterprise priorities.
- Identify, assess, and mitigate operational and supply chain risks while maintaining compliance with international regulations, trade requirements, and industry standards.
- Optimize global logistics networks, supplier relationships, and strategic partnerships to enhance resilience, speed, and cost competitiveness.
- Establish and track meaningful KPIs; leverage data and analytics to drive proactive decision-making and rapid problem resolution.
- Champion the adoption of new technologies, automation, and digital capabilities to modernize operations and position the organization for future growth.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Operations Management, Engineering, Supply Chain, or a related discipline; MBA or advanced degree strongly preferred.
- 12–15+ years of progressive operations leadership experience, including 7–10+ years in senior global or multi-regional roles (VP, SVP, or equivalent).
- Demonstrated success leading international operations, managing complex global supply chains, and delivering measurable improvements in cost, service, and profitability.
- Proven ability to lead large-scale operational transformations and achieve significant EBITDA impact in dynamic, growth-oriented environments.
- Deep expertise in lean manufacturing/operations, supply chain optimization, strategic sourcing, and process excellence methodologies.
- Strong financial acumen with direct experience managing operational P&L, budgeting, and capital projects.
- Exceptional leadership presence with a track record of building and developing diverse, high-performance global teams.
- Excellent strategic thinking, communication, and influencing skills at the executive level.
- Willingness and ability to travel internationally (up to 30–50% as business needs dictate).
- Experience in private equity-backed, middle-market, or rapidly scaling organizations is highly desirable.
